It is not surprising that writer Virginia Woolf mentions Springfield Villa in her memoirs. The apple trees mentioned in the novel 'To The Lighthouse' which are still flourishing in the beautiful garden at Springfield Villa is the perfect place to unwind and let your imagination run away with you. A small breakfast table at the front of the property is lovely for catching the morning sun over a cup of coffee and the table and chairs to the side of the house is a sun trap whilst you enjoy some alfresco dining and a glass of wine during the afternoon and early evening. With an abundance of flowers, trees and even banana plants, you will not want to leave Springfield Villa purely for its tranquility, but if you do, the beach and well renowned Porthminster Cafe are only a short walk down the hill.

Named after the spring that runs beneath the property, the stream can be seen at the bottom of the hill on the beach. With a huge selection of beach equipment at Springfield Villa including a windbreak, deck chairs, bucket and spade and beach games, there will be no excuses not to visit the golden sand just seconds away.

From the living area, there is access to the basement which has a two seater sofa, blackboard and chalks, board games, a sink and washing machine. There is also a separate shower room with toilet. The basement can be accessed from the double doors at the front of the property too which is ideal for coming from the beach and getting rid of sandy feet in the shower. The large wooden shed in the garden comprises of the freezer and tumble dryer.

The sleeping accommodation at Springfield Villa comprises of a super king sized bedroom, one twin room and a double bedroom all with quality mattresses. The super king bedroom is accessed via stairs from the kitchen to the first floor. It offers a wardrobe, 2 side tables, a blanket chest, mirror and DAB radio. The bathroom has an over head shower, basin, toilet and bidet with sea views from the window. The twin room boasts two orthopedic mattresses, a chest of drawers, mirror, side table and shelved cupboard. The study room which also has ample space for the travel cot leads via stairs to the attic bedroom. Springfield Villa really does offer something extra special in self catering holiday homes. Its location and features such as parking for 2 cars and private garden is second to none. Please be aware that the access to the parking area is very narrow so requires care when approaching. St. Ives town is only a five minute walk away offering an array of boutique shops, art galleries including the famous Tate and Barbara Hepworth museum. The cosmopolitan bars and restaurants are fantastic for mouthwatering food and being conveniently close to the train line means that even the city traveller has easy access to the property. Facilities on Porthminster Beach include: 2 beach cafes, beach shop along with a 'crazy golf' course and ice cream shop.
