There are a number of excellent restaurants within a short walk away and Falmouth Town is within 20 minutes walk or a short drive.
Eastbury House has been under the ownership of the same Falmouth family for three generations. The house, designed in the Arts and Crafts style by the renowned Truro Architect Alfred Cornelius, was built in the 1920's. It remained unaltered until 2010 when a sympathetic refurbishment created a more contemporary kitchen, opening onto the terrace with views over Falmouth Bay whilst still retaining many original features including the open fire and service bells. Interesting pictures and prints by local artists and historic photographs are displayed throughout the property.
The house can be entered from the front, or the back door into the former kitchen, now a boot (utility) room that comprises a sink, washing machine, fridge freezer and microwave. A further door leads into the light and spacious kitchen/breakfast room with ceramic sink, wooden worktops, and solid wood dining table and chairs. There is an island unit, dishwasher, Aga with two hotplates together with a separate electric oven and 4 ring gas hob. Adjoining the kitchen through glass double doors is a small conservatory opening onto the terrace and beautiful garden with views of Falmouth Bay.
Through the hall with galleried landing is a spacious sitting room with two large sofas and window seat overlooking the front garden and further to Pendennis Castle on the cliffs beyond. A 22" LCD television with in-built DVD player and Sky Plus HD is provided. There is an adjoining study/dining area which contains a dining table and four chairs.
Ascending an imposing staircase with oak balustrades onto the landing a bookcase contains a large selection of interesting books. The upstairs accommodation comprises three double bedrooms, two of which enjoy panoramic views of Falmouth Bay, Pendennis Castle and to St Anthony Lighthouse beyond.
The master bedroom offers a 5ft double bed and window seat. There is a full length mirror, chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe and two bedside tables with lamps, alarm clock, hairdryer and CD player. The en-suite bathroom includes a double ended bath with central shower attachment, separate shower cubicle with raindrop shower head, wash hand basin with large mirror over, toilet and heated towel rail.
The second bedroom offers a versatile sleeping arrangement with zip and lock beds offering either a 6ft super king size bed or twin beds (Please advise a member of the team how you require this arrangement when making your booking). It includes a large chest of drawers, dressing table with mirror and spacious cupboard.
The third double bedroom overlooks the rear garden and comprises a fitted hanging cupboard, chest of drawers with two bedside tables and lamps.
Outside, guests may wish to enjoy meals or relaxing on the terrace or lawns of the beautiful garden whilst taking in the views. Alternatively swimming from Gyllynvase beach, only a couple of minutes away is very convenient. There is a temperature controllable shower at the back of the house for rinsing off sandy feet and wetsuits.
The Gylly Café (with large beachside terrace), winner of a Silver Award in the 2009 Cornish Tourism Awards for Best Café in Cornwall serves a delicious range of food for breakfast (after an early swim), lunch or evening meals, when live music is sometimes available.
Eastbury House is perfect for couples or families seeking a sizeable but comfortable coastal home and is well placed for enjoying the facilities available in Falmouth but also the picturesque south Cornish coast.
A perfect family retreat in a perfect location.
