set in the heart of the coastal town of Mevagissey

With its own covered terrace looking directly over Mevagissey's picturesque fishing harbour, and boasting fantastic views of the lighthouse and out to sea, Lower Deck is a secret bolthole where you can enjoy the beauty of the Cornish coastline without ever leaving your chair.  With a romantic wood burning stove, allocated off-road parking space, delightful conservatory, private walled garden and large open plan living and dining area Lower Deck is a true 'Cornish Gem' for couples or young families.  Dogs are not permitted at The Moorings.

The Property

Renovated to a high standard, Lower Deck is generously sized and accommodates up to four guests.  With private entrance and fully self-contained it forms the bottom floor of the Moorings.  It boasts a fully equipped kitchen, an open plan living space with cosy wood burning stove, a conservatory, private garden (in addition to the all-weather terrace) 1 double and 1 twin bedroom and luxurious bathroom.  The entrance is through the private walled garden with its apple tree.  The living area consists of a multifuel stove, 2 seater sofa, 2 funky red chairs, flatscreen TV/DVD player, radio/CD/iPod dock, nest of tables, a selection of books and CD's and a window seat from which to sit and soak up the fabulous views across Mevagissey harbour below.  The main door leads out onto a covered terrace with bench and seating which is the ideal outdoor spot to enjoy the "gull's eye" views of the fishing boats.  The newly fitted, modern and fully integrated kitchen is well equipped for your stay offering a 4 ring halogen hob, single oven, fridge, freezer compartment, microwave and combined washer/dryer.  There is a solid wood dining table that can seat 4.  Adjoining the kitchen and dining area is a delightful conservatory which looks out onto the garden and has a bistro table set (perfect for afternoon tea), along with a large round wicker chair with sea views.  French doors lead from the conservatory out to the garden area where you will find an additional 4 seater bistro table set for al fresco dining.  This can be moved to the undercover terrace area for those occasional rainy days.

Moorings (Lower Deck) was a lovely place to stay. It felt homely and quite luxurious. Watching fishing boats chug by that had possibly landed the fish we were eating by night was quite fun. We really liked the bathroom, including the 'waterfall' taps! We have talked about a possible return one day :)

The king size master bedroom has a black metal bedstead, silk cushions and window seat overlooking the garden.  The twin room has a nautical theme with solid wooden 3ft single beds and window seat.  The luxurious modern bathroom offers a bath with a waterfall tap and shower overhead with raindrop head for a truly indulgent soak.  It is finished with natural travertine stone tiles.  Mevagissey is evocatively picturesque and rich in history.  Just down the hill from The Moorings the narrow streets are aligned with an eclectic collection of boutiques, traditional pubs, local deli, restaurants and amenities.  Small beaches emerge at low tide in the harbour itself and beautiful coastal walks are on your doorstep along the South West Coastal Path which runs through Mevagissey.  The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a 5 minute drive away.  The Moorings can be rented in 3 ways; the whole house that sleeps 12, the top part of the house - Harbour House (sleeps 8) or Lower Deck (sleeps 4).  When rented separately each property has its own entrance points and allocated outside space.

Moorings (Lower Deck) was a lovely place to stay. It felt homely and quite luxurious. Watching fishing boats chug by that had possibly landed the fish we were eating by night was quite fun. We really liked the bathroom, including the 'waterfall' taps! Thank you for the care taken to call to check everything was okay. We have talked about a possible return one day :)

We were very impressed with both the service and quality provided. We have already recommended Cornish Gems to our family and friends and will use your website again to look for our next family holiday.

Excellent accommodation. Location fantastic for us in respect of visiting other places and dining out every night in Mevagissey. Would definitely revisit in the future and use Cornish Gems again - already recommended to family and friends. We've had a splendid holiday!
