The Moorings is perched on the cliff overlooking Mevagissey's quintessentially Cornish harbour. It is a newly renovated Victorian house cleverly combining classic and contemporary interior design and boasts breathtaking views across Mevagissey harbour and lighthouse from most rooms. It offers large living spaces, 6 bedrooms (1 with en-suite), 2 family bathrooms and WC. This beautiful, substantial property has allocated off-road parking for 3 vehicles. Other facilities include a conservatory, terrace, outside dining space (with a wonderful view), and small garden. It conveniently provides the option for larger families to remain independent from each other with two kitchen, dining and living areas.

Upon entering this magnificent house, the hallway greets you with an authentic Victorian atmosphere. To the left is the open plan living and study area, with folding doors to either separate the two rooms or open up into one family room. The living area has been decorated in a rich cream and purple colour scheme complemented with fabulous ceiling chandeliers, dark original wood flooring, and warm Persian rugs. There is a three seater sofa, comfy chair, 2 bean bags, window seat, decorative fireplace, flat screen TV/ DVD player and a selection of books and CDs located in the original Victorian shelving either side of the fireplace. The study area continues with the same colour scheme and offers further seating by way of two armchairs and window seat (all with sea views), side table with lamp, iPod docking station and dark wooden desk with chair.

To your right from the hallway is the magnificent open-plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped for your stay and offers an electric oven with 4 ring ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave. The dining area is where the stunning harbour views can truly be appreciated, a large square dining table dominates the centre of the room which seats 12 guests. It is strategically placed near a wall of windows offering undoubtedly one of the best harbour views in Mevagissey. There is also a large sofa from which to soak up the views or enjoy an after dinner drink. A large oval mirror reflects the sea on the wall above. Other features in this room include a church pew, breakfast bar, bean bag, chandelier and CD/radio/iPod player.

Back to the entrance hall, there is a WC under the stairs which lead to the first floor of the house comprising four bedrooms and a family bathroom. The Moorings offers versatile sleeping accommodation: 2 double bedrooms with sea views and kingsize beds (one with en-suite shower room), and 2 twin/double bedrooms where the beds can be separated and arranged as two 3ft single beds, or zipped together to create 6ft super kingsize beds.

The family bathroom has been beautifully decorated in traditional white and blue offering a bath with overhead raindrop shower, wall mounted mirror, wash hand basin and toilet.

Back down to the kitchen area, a door leads downstairs to the outside terraced dining area and also to the lower level of the house known as the "Lower Deck" (which sleeps 4 and can be rented separately). It is a self-contained space forming the bottom part of The Moorings. It boasts breathtaking views across Mevagissey harbour from inside the property and from its garden and terrace.

The Lower Deck has been stylishly renovated. It offers a large open-plan living, kitchen and dining space. The living area consists of a multifuel stove, 2 seater sofa, 2 funky red chairs, flat screen TV/DVD player, radio/CD/iPod dock, nest of tables, a selection of books, CDs and DVDs and a window seat from which to sit and soak up the fabulous views across Mevagissey harbour below. The main door leads out onto a covered terrace with bench and seating to enjoy the views over the harbour.

The newly fitted, modern and fully integrated kitchen is well equipped for your stay offering a 4 ring halogen hob, single oven, fridge, freezer compartment, microwave and combined washer/dryer. There is a solid wood dining table that can seat 4. Adjoining the kitchen and dining area is a delightful conservatory which looks out onto the garden and has a bistro table set (perfect for afternoon tea), along with a large round wicker chair with sea views. French doors lead from the conservatory out to the garden area where you will find an additional 4 seater bistro table set for "al-fresco" dining. This can be moved to the undercover terrace area for those occasional rainy days…

The Lower Deck offers 2 bedrooms comprising one double room with kingsize bed and one twin room. The modern bathroom offers a bath and shower (with raindrop shower head), wash hand basin/vanity unit, toilet, heated towel ladder and large wall mirror.

The Moorings can be rented in 3 ways; the whole house that sleeps 12, the top part of the house - Harbour House (sleeps 8) or Lower Deck (sleeps 4). When rented separately each property has its own entrance points and allocated outside space. Whatever the size of your party this beautiful holiday home is a real gem and you'll leave wanting to return time and time again.

Mevagissey is evocatively picturesque and rich in history. It is full of character both in and out of season. Just down the hill from the Moorings the narrow streets are aligned with an eclectic collection of boutiques, traditional pubs, local deli, restaurants and amenities. Small beaches emerge at low tide in the harbour itself and beautiful coastal walks are on your doorstep along the southwest coastal path which runs through Mevagissey. The lost Gardens of Heligan are a 5 minute drive away.

A few miles up the coast is the larger harbour town - Fowey, one of Cornwall's most popular yachting destination, home town of the celebrated author Daphne du Maurier with a delightful array of shops, pubs and cafes. In summer months daily passenger ferries travel between the two harbour towns.

Inland the closest town is St. Austell with the world famous Eden Project nearby. St Austell offers a newly developed retail centre, a number of out of town larger retail outlets plus Tesco and Asda supermarkets that can deliver locally.
