Embracing Diversity: Why We’re Proud To Sponsor Cornwall Pride This Year
At Cornish Gems, we believe that every individual should be celebrated for who they are. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to be sponsors of Cornwall Pride this year. Supporting this event is a reflection of values and deep commitment to fostering inclusivity, diversity and community spirit.
Why we’re sponsoring Cornwall Pride 2024
Cornwall Pride is more than just a vibrant celebration; it is a powerful statement of solidarity and love for the LGBTQ+ community. As a passionately local and independent company, we’re embedded within the communities of Cornwall. As such, we endeavour to support charities and Trusts that provide vital services to the people and landscapes of our community. We believe that Cornwall Pride stands for everything we believe in, as we continue to contribute to Cornwall’s vibrant and unique community. By supporting Cornwall Pride, we are eager to work alongside those aiming to amplify the voices of the LGBTQ+ community, by breaking down barriers and contributing to building a more inclusive society.
We recognise that Pride is not just a one-day event. It’s part of a broader movement that has brought about significant progress in the fight for equality. However, there’s still work to be done, and we want to be part of that ongoing journey. Sponsoring Cornwall Pride allows us to contribute meaningfully to the visibility and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals, both within Cornwall and beyond.
Why It’s Important To Us
At the heart of our business is a belief in equality and respect. We strive to create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to be their true selves. Supporting Cornwall Pride aligns perfectly with our mission to champion diversity, not only within our company, but also in the communities we serve.
We understand that as a business, we have a responsibility to use our platform for good, that aligns with our B-Corp ethos. By sponsoring Cornwall Pride, we hope to inspire other local businesses to step up and support the LGBTQ+ community. Together, we can create a more inclusive Cornwall where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, feels accepted and celebrated.
Linking Back To The Community
Cornwall is not just a location; it’s our home. We have deep roots in this community, and we are passionate about giving back. Sponsoring Cornwall Pride is one way we can support the people who make this region so special.
Our commitment to the community goes beyond sponsorship. We actively engage in local initiatives, partner with organisations that promote equality, and work to ensure that our business practices reflect our dedication to inclusivity. Cornwall Pride is an opportunity for us to connect with our community on a deeper level and to reaffirm our commitment to creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
Queer Supporters In Cornwall
Cornwall is known for its stunning landscapes, but it’s also home to a thriving queer scene. Here are some key advocates for the LGBTQ+ community in Cornwall…

The youth group is dedicated to supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and questioning individuals up to the age of 25 who live, work, study, or visit Cornwall.
- Kernow Queer Artists Collective: This wonderful group shows off the fabulous work of local individuals, who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. As an effort to get the creativity of queer members of Cornwall recognised, KQAC hold exhibitions and art sales, open to all of the public.
- Blooom Cornwall: Based in Falmouth, Blooom hosts a number of creative workshops across Cornwall, targeted for marginalised groups. These events include ‘Sculpt And Slay’, ‘Patchwork Of Pride’, and ‘Mini Lantern Making’.
