Eastbury House is a beautifully presented coastal home with large established gardens just perfect for families and friends alike to explore this picture perfect corner of Cornwall.  The house is a stones throw away from the quiet sandy coves of Gyllynvase and Swanpool beaches with their crystal clear waters.  Eastbury cleverly combines its traditional period style with more modern order.

The Property

Eastbury House has been in the same Falmouth family for three generations, when they are not in residence they warmly invite you to enjoy the home comforts of this impressive coastal home.  The house, designed in the Arts and Crafts style by the renowned Truro Architect Alfred Cornelius, was built in the 1920's.  It remained unaltered until 2010 when a sympathetic refurbishment created a more contemporary kitchen, opening onto the terrace with views over Falmouth Bay whilst still retaining many original features including the original service bells.  Interesting pictures and prints by local artists and historic photographs are displayed throughout the property.  From the state of the art stylish kitchen, the relaxing ambiance of the living room to the sanctuary of each bedroom you are assured of a quiet corner to hideaway from the hubbub of holiday life - escapism awaits.

Within 5 minutes of our arrival we knew we would book Eastbury House again. The property and location are incredible and it was the perfect base for a weeks holiday with our young family. I will certainly recommend Cornish Gems and Eastbury House to friends and family.

Outside, spend your days enjoying meals alfresco or relax on the terrace and beautifully manicured lawns of the verdant garden whilst taking in the views.  For a pre-breakfast dip, swimming at Gyllynvase beach which is only a couple of minutes away, there is even a temperature controllable shower at the back of the house for rinsing off sandy feet and wetsuits.  The Gylly Cafe, with large beachside terrace, is winner of a Silver Award in the 2009 Cornish Tourism Awards for Best Cafe in Cornwall and comes highly recommended, serving a delicious range of freshly prepared food be it breakfast (after an early swim), lunch or evening meals, live music is a regular fixture in the diary.  The property is a stone's throw away from Gyllynvase and Swanpool Beaches and there are public tennis courts opposite with the popular St Michael's Hotel and spa around the corner, offering an indoor heated pool, jacuzzi and spa.  There are a number of excellent restaurants within a short walk away and Falmouth Town is within 20 minutes walk or a short drive.  Eastbury House is perfect for couples or families seeking a sizeable but comfortable coastal home and is well placed for enjoying the facilities available in Falmouth but also the picturesque south Cornish coast.

An excellent rental property especially for Christmas We really enjoyed having the open fire in the lounge One recommendation to future guests would be the close proximity of the swimming pool and spa at St Michael's hotel - guest membership is available weekly.

Charming house and gardens in a wonderful location. Provided a perfect base for our family to explore Falmouth and Southern Cornwall. Beautiful sea views from most rooms and a short stroll down to the beach. The children delighted in exploring the large and beautiful gardens... lots of little paths perfect for hide and seek!

A fantastic week in Eastbury House, the property is beautiful and we are already missing waking up to the gorgeous sea views. Cornish Gems staff were always so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Would definitely recommend both the house and Cornish Gems.

LOUISE WALSH

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eastbury House. It has stunning views and was light, airy and welcoming. The house was clean, well equipped and had excellent heating which was fortunate since the weather can be a little chilly in March. We used this as a base to visit our daughters who both live in this area and would certainly book with you again in the future. Many thanks for your competent and swift service, delivered with good grace and courtesy.

Mrs Sue Steel
