Tucked away in the heart of Port Isaac, North Cornwall, Grey Roofs brings a luxury twist to this once traditional fishermans cottage. Step from your holiday door and immerse yourself in the quintessential Cornish charm and local atmosphere. Port Isaac sets the film set backdrop for the popular Doc Martin TV series and costumed characters can often be found awaiting their scene! Grey Roofs has been thoughtfully rennovated to maintain the original features yet bring a more modern order. Choose from 3 beautiful bedrooms offering accommodation for up to 5 guests with smart contemporary bathroom. Private allocated parking located towards the top of the town offers ease of access to explore the stunning North Cornish coastline from Trebarwith Strand to Daymer Bay.

The Property

From the moment you turn off the characterful narrow streets of Port Isaac's harbour front and into the hidden away alley, Grey Roofs offers a luxury base for your holiday beside the sea. Step down to the front door and into the fishermans cottage kitchen complete with original inglenook stove and grey slate flooring.  A fully fitted kitchen with all you need for holiday cooking and country cottage dining table and bench seating just perfect for a casual breakfast or mornings coffee. Stone steps lead down into the open plan dining and living space, the hub to the Grey Roofs. The large dining table with smart high backed leather chairs can be dressed up for special occasions or kept simple for Cornish fish suppers perhaps. Lead into the beautiful living room with traditional woodburner and stylish decor twist combining the orginal charm with more coastal chic. A central staircase leads up to the first floor with a choice of 3 generous sized bedrooms and cool contemporary bathroom. Each bedroom has been thoughtfully dressed in crisp whites and a pastel palette of soft furnishings. The walls are adorned with coastal inspried artwork that evokes the fishing and seascape culture of Port Isaac and the North Cornish coastline. The bathroom has been rennovated to a high standard with luxury fixtures, fittings and a stylish blue tiled backdrop.

Everything was perfect. From the booking/arrival service to the cottage itself. The cottage was exactly as described and as it looked in the photographs. So much character and immaculately presented. The location too was perfect. We would definitely go back.

From your holiday door, slate steps lead to your very own vantage point and bird's eye view of Port Isaac. This large decked area is the perfect place to watch the boats go by with large wooden dining table, charcoal BBQ and 2 sun loungers. Soak up the summer sunshine, this raised platform really is a secret suntrap. With it's plum location, Grey Roofs is a wonderful base from which to immerse yourself in the coastal village life. Lights, camera, action! can often be heard as the lastest episode of Doc Martin is staged on the harbour front or cottage doorway. There are a number of places to sit and enjoy a quiet drink or delicious supper, the culinary creations of top local chef Nathan Outlaw are well worth a reservation or enjoy the finest pub grub at The Slipway. Port Isaac is a traditional working harbour with the characterful fishing boats heading out for the daily catch. The nearby cove of Port Gaverne is perfect for beach goers and swimmers with its crystal clear waters. Surfers will enjoy the golden sands and clean surf of Trebarwith Strand a little further up the coastline. This beautiful stretch of coastline has so much to offer, miles of unspoilt coastal pathways, some wonderful local restaurants and hidden away cafes.

Grey Roofs really is a wonderful coastal cottage from which to explore Cornwall, gather your friends and family for a warm Port Isaac welcome.

Excellent! It was very well presented, high quality specification throughout with everything we required.

Very thoughtful welcome provisions to kick start our break after a very long journey. We found biscuits, fresh ground coffee, tea and fresh milk in the fridge. Along with the welcome pack was sample sized locally made toiletries. Extremely clean property. The bathroom was spotlessly clean - we could see our faces in the tiles! Excellent. The property is very quaint, charming and well appointed. Warm and cosy and well appointed from iPod docks, well fitted and stocked kitchen, cosy wood burner, great seating arrangement - kitchen seating and formal dining room seating.
