Located within the coastal town of Mevagissey, South Cornwall, Harbour Rest is aptly named. This charming coastal cottage sits above the harbour wall offering jackpot views of the bustling harbour and blue St Austell bay beyond. Choose from 2 beautiful bedrooms offering accommodation for up to 4 guests with 2 bathrooms. A spacious terraced garden leads up behind the cottage for rooftops views and suntrap seating area. Explore the beauty of South Cornwall from this wonderful base, the nearby sandy beaches of Gorran, Pentewan, Hemmick and Pendower are all well worth a visit or discover the beautiful garden of Heligan and the inspiring Eden Project. The Roseland Peninsula is within easy access offering some of the most beautiful seascapes and hidden away coves in Cornwall.

The Property

Follow the quintessential Cornish streets to your holiday door set along The Cliff coastal path over the harbour wall. Harbour Rest is a mid terrace coastal cottage set over 3 levels and has been sensitively rennovated to maintain the cottage charm and features of yesteryear with a more luxury twist. Upon arrival, the ground floor offers a stylish master bedroom with ensuite and lovely views of the harbour. Sink under luxury linens and relaxed amidst the cool blue and fresh white decor. Stairs lead to the small yet perfectly formed fully fitted kitchen with all you need for your stay, Mevagissey offers some tempting places to dine ensuring a happy balance of self catering and fine Cornish fare! A few further steps lead you into the open plan living and dining space, certainly the hub to the home. Gather together for breakfast within this light and sunny space all set to the Cornish backdrop of fishing boats and harbour life below. Watch the world go by from your private vantage point and relax in stylish blue sofas and armchairs for a quiet afternoon. The final staircase splits midway leading to a contemporary shower room and door leading to the garden. At the top of the house is spacious 2nd bedroom which can be set as a twin or King sized double, again the coastal ambiance continues with nautical blue and white palette and birds eye view of Mevagissey below.

Harbour Rest certainly lived up to its name. It was a true haven where we were able to fully relax. The ever-changing working harbour was a joy to wake up to and watch throughout the day, and we had a truly wonderful and memorable holiday. Thank you!

A wonderful elevated and terraced garden leads up behind Harbour Rest offering a private suntrap setting for lazy days, evening drinks and sunny coffees! A well placed garden bench is the perfect spot to sit and read or steps lead to the higher slate terrace with wooden dining table and chairs with views to the bay and away up the coast and headlands. Step from your holiday door and onto The Cliff, a pedestrain lane that forms part of the South West Coastal pathways leading you aong some of the most beautiful clifftop pathways, hug the coastline around the point towards Pentewan Sands. Mevagissey oozes Cornish charm from the colourful fishing boats hauling their daily catch, artisan bakeries and cafes, curio souvenir shops from old fashioned rock to stylish coastal inspired homewares. Enjoy fine pub grub with a local atmosphere, homemade pasties on the quay or more fine dining experiences. The South coast offers a plethora of activities from bike trails at nearby Pentewan, deep sea fishing from the harbour, National Trust and private gardens (including The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan), watersports, sailing and kayaking - whether young or simply young at heart, immerse yourself in the verdant countryside and coastal playground. If day trips are on the agenda then visit the martime town of Fowey which is a mecca for sailors the world over or the historic village of Charlestown known famously for its film set popularity including the more recent backdrop to BBC's Poldark. Heading West, Mevagissey is a gateway to The Roseland Peninsula, a stunning unspolit peninsula flanked by sheltered waters and tucked away villages including Portscatho and St Mawes.

Harbour Rest offers a unique opportunity to style in the heart of a truly Cornish harbour town, as perfect for couples as for samller families, stay in coastal style.
