Herodshead Farm welcomes one dog to stay.

The Property

Through the electric gates, follow the driveway down to the house as the views open up beyond you.  From the moment you arrive, this wonderfully private abode fills you with a great sense of calm and tranquility.  This majestic country home has been the labour of love of its owner, from the hand crafted door latches to the state of the art technology throughout, you are assured of a luxurious stay.  A central hub of the house, the open plan hallway and living spaces cleverly combine the natural elements of traditional stone and oak with modern glass creating a striking feature and unique ambiance.  The sitting room with large wood burner and relaxed seating truly is the focal point to the house, pull back the smart glass bi-fold doors from corner to corner for that ultimate outside-in feel, taking in the stunning views.  The perfect home for that celebratory occasion, your dining needs are well considered.  Choose to dress to impress within the formality of the dining room (just off the sitting room) whilst more casual affairs from lazy breakfasts to stop gap lunches are enjoyed at the large kitchen table.  A well placed TV-come-reading room offers a quieter nook from holiday life or cosy place to relax with a film.  The spacious country kitchen is no less inspired ensuring enough space for all to get involved, with some of Cornwalls finest produce all within easy reach, your culinary creations are set to impress.  As the days exertions come to an end, climb the oak staircase to your boutique bedroom.  Each with its own individual style, every room has been flawlessly furnished with luxury in mind from top of the range beds to integral ambiance lighting.  With indulgence in mind the collection of generous sized bathrooms are contemporary in style with large overhead rain showers, claw foot baths and Fired Earth fittings.

The house was well designed, tastefully decorated and a joy to be in. One could go on for hours as there were so many corners of pleasure in the house and grounds. Three words sum it all up - we loved it!

A paved veranda wraps around the front of the house ensuring its guests can enjoy day long sunshine al fresco.  At the gable end and leading from the bi-fold sitting room doors, an oversized chunky garden table is the perfect spot to soak up the views of the rolling fields to the evergreen forest that flanks the grounds.  Lead from the veranda to the grassed lawn and down to the gentle stream.  Children will love exploring their own slice of this rural haven, with the Forestry Commission Deer Park just across the valley, the beautiful deers are a common addition to the scene.  The heated indoor swimming pool lies just across the veranda within its own bespoke pool house.  Pull back the glass doors of the entire side of the barn to make the most of the elevated position and tranquil views, what better way to start your day.  There is a further private patio area to the side of the pool house.

Herodshead Farm is enviably placed to explore the hidden shores of South Cornwall from picturesque Looe and Polperro to the sandy beaches surrounding Talland Bay.  For all things nautical, head to the River Fowey for a day on the water, the Bodinnick car ferry will lead you from Polruan to Fowey itself.  The peaceful river village of Lerryn is well worth a visit for woodland walk followed by pub lunch.
