Lamorna is a traditional fishermen's cottage located in the heart of the historic Downalong area in St Ives.  A short walk to many golden sandy beaches including Porthmeor, Porthgwidden and the Harbour beach makes this Cornish home a perfect choice be it winter bolthole made for two or family bedside-the-sea base where up to five can enjoy a taste of Cornwall.

The Property

Lamorna has been creatively thought out blending the traditional features of this once Fishermen's cottage with stylish modern order.  Decked out in antique creams and rich browns the cottage has a warming welcome and laid back vibe.  The bedrooms offer a more nautical approach with sailor blue and white stripe fabrics and coastal inspired artwork throughout.  A sleek well equipped kitchen with open plan dining space is perfect for holiday cooking, take advantage of your seaside location and indulge in the freshest of fish and seafood.  As perfect for a winter hideaway by the fire as a sunny summer holiday, Lamorna offers a first class base to really immerse yourself in wonderful St Ives.

To the rear of Lamorna, you're just a small gate away from a quiet road leading to the beach.  You can go from sofa to sandcastles in no time!  Map out your lazy days in the town from morning coffee and pastries at one of the many appealing cafes; pasties on the quay; a trip around the bay to spot the wild seals or simply time out with the sand between your toes.  Located in the heart of historic Downalong area of St Ives a plethora of beaches await including Porthmeor, The Harbour and Porthgwidden, all offering beach cafe options and beach shops.  Lamorna Cottage is our highly recommended choice for families or couples seeking an exceptional quality holiday home, well placed for accessing the growing numbers of restaurants, cafes, shops, galleries and beaches.

How can I make a reservation?


  1. Select the property you wish to book
  2. Choose Availability/Prices
  3. Choose the date you wish to book on the calendar
  4. Register/complete/submit the online reservation and pay the monies due

Monday - Friday: 9am to 6pm

Saturday: 10am to 6pm


Advance bookings:

  1. Pay 1/3rd deposit to secure your holiday (33.3%) now and pay the balance 4 weeks before your holiday

Last minute bookings:

  1. Payment in full required for all holidays booked within 28 days of arrival

You can pay securely online or over the phone via Sagepay.

Cautionary Deposit:

  1. A cautionary deposit of £250.00 is required prior to your check in. The day before your arrival we will pre authorise your balance payment card for this amount. Should you wish to use an alternative card then please ensure you have this card readily available when making your balance payment. (Please note you can use a credit card for this without incurring any charges).

When you submit an online reservation, you will receive an automated reservation confirmation. Please contact the reservations team with any questions you may have.

How can I pay

We accept debit cards (no charge), credit cards (2.5% surcharge) and international bank transfers.
We do not accept cheque payments.

Online Payments

You can pay for the balance of your holiday and holiday extras by logging into your Cornish Gems account.

  • There is no parking available with this property however, you are able to purchase a "Rover" parking permit (requires at least 10 days notice) which will entitle you to stay in any of the council run long stay car parks throughout Cornwall.  Weekly tickets are also available to purchase from the car park itself, if the 10 day notice period has passed.  Please note that purchasing your ticket in this way will only entitle you to use the car park it was purchased from.  Please also be aware that neither of these tickets will guarantee you a space.  Ask a member of the team for further details.  Your nearest car park is The Island car park which is just a couple of minutes walk away
