A stylish home with spacious garden with sea view

Meadow View is an attractive New England style timber clad home situated in the traditional fishing town of Newlyn on the south Cornish coast.  A large established garden with verdant lawn, dining area and shady trees plus beautiful sea views overlooking Mount's Bay makes this impressive holiday home a perfect choice for families and friends looking to explore this quintessential part of Cornwall.

The Property

From its elevated position, the open plan living space is filled with natural light.  The floor to ceiling concertina glass doors open up to a juliet balcony and wonderful views across the bay including the famous St Michael's Mount.  For winter stays a large traditional log burner sets the scene for an afternoon of storm-watching from the cosy chestnut brown sofas (with good book in hand, of course).  In the summer open up the doors for that inside-out ambiance.  A well equipped open plan kitchen overlooks the garden and living space, why not order a fresh-from-the-sea fish hamper in advance from our friends at W.Stephenson, Newlyn and whip up a seafood feast to impress or fire up the BBQ Cornish style.  A double and zip & lock bedroom to the rear have both been individually styled to offer an inviting space to rest your head.

We booked Meadow View for our honeymoon & upon arrival the property far exceeded our expectations. The property itself was furnished to a very high standard & was situated in amazing gardens with spectacular views across the bay to St Michael's Mount. We will definitely be returning.

Perched high above the narrow streets of Newlyn, follow the small stone path as it leads down from the parking area, past the raised pond before opening up to the wonderful large garden with gently sloping lawn, certainly a winning feature for Meadow View in a town where green space is in short supply.  A generous patio area with dining table and six chairs is a perfect place to enjoy the late afternoon sun or the early risers in the group can capture the sunrise over the bay.  For those post salty, sandy days a handy outside shower is a welcome addition.  Beneath the cabin, the basement come utility room offers ample storage for holiday kit be it wetsuits, surfboards, boots and shopping.  Days at Meadow View are spent lazing on the lawn or exploring the traditional fishing town of Newlyn.  Stroll from the property down to the harbour front where the colourful backdrop of fishing boats is quite a scene.  A number of cafes and pubs offer a warm welcome.  Highly recommended is the picture perfect neighbouring town of Mousehole with its charming fishermens' cottages and boutique shops.  For the ultimate Cornish break choose to spend a little time out in Newlyn be it a romantic bolthole or a family break.

Testimonials

***A Must Stay*** This is the best holiday property we have stayed in. A beautiful entrance as you walk the quaint path which leads to a wonderful garden and beautiful stylish property with fantastic views over Newlyn, Penzance, the sea and Michaels Mount. The inside was immaculate and everything was just made easy for a very comfortable and relaxed stay. Even the wood burner in the lounge was ready to go. The Wifi was super fast too which is a wonder bonus. We loved our visit to Cornwall and Meadow View was the icing on the cake. We can not recommend this place enough. Will we stay again ? Of course we will, absolutely. Thank you Cornish Gems

This was our first visit to this part of Cornwall, we had a fabulous holiday. Meadow View is a lovely property set in wonderful gardens overlooking Newlyn harbour and Mount's Bay. In the garden there is a memorial stone to John Wells Artist and Doctor - it would have been nice to have found out more about him.

Susan Unwin

Fantastic company to deal with from start to finish. The property was clean and exactly what we expected. 10/10. We will come back again.

David Parker
