Leaving the energy and buzz of Newquay behind you, follow your nose out towards Pentire Headland where unique ambiance of coastal zen and tranquillity await. Built in the 60’s, Rockpools has captured the essence of its location and is set back into the cliff face overlooking the River Gannel. The house inside is all on one level and very much open plan in style. Arrive into the spacious and enviable kitchen decked out with smart appliances, vintage style crockery and kitchen ware, the owners’ personal style and thoughtful touches really set this house apart. The versatile breakfast bar separates the kitchen from the living and dining space, a glass topped wrought iron table with 6 chairs is perfectly placed by the double glass doors to really capture the countryside scenes of rolling hills and riverscapes over dinner. A relaxed living area offers more than enough comfortable seating for all, duck egg blues and fresh whites are off set with the warmth of the wooden flooring and inspired artwork. Light the log burner and cosy up in the winter as the easterly winds blow or simply unwind with a favourite book. A light and sunny conservatory area offers further seating and is the perfect place to take in the views with relaxation assured. Two beautifully decorated bedrooms are just off the living space, choose from the front facing double with doors onto the decking area or a further zip/lock super king to the rear dressed in warm creams and soft whites and offering ensuite shower. A large family bathroom is no less considered, a beautiful deep bath ensures the perfect pamper after a day on the coast.
From the dining area, double glass patio doors lead onto the cedar decking area, an attractive table and chair dining set sits high above the river below, a perfect coffee spot. From here, steps lead down to a more sheltered decking area. This wonderful decked space has a southerly aspect assuring you of day long sunshine a private outlook and is large enough for children to play safely whilst you enjoy some time out. A larger outside dining table and benches offer further seating and set the scene for a lazy afternoon. The bespoke built in open fire is wonderful year round, think cosy hot chocolates gathered as a family or take off the evening chill in the summer with cocktail in hand. To the front of Rockpools a pretty grassed garden has been beautifully planted for spring to autumn colour, the fenced garden ensures both privacy and safety for children. Leave the car behind and wander down to the river edge from your private holiday home. The River Gannel is a tidal tributary, at low tide you can cross the bridge to the golden sand beach of Crantock or when the tide is high choose to head to the other side of the headland where Fistral beach can be found. Guests will enjoy the luxury of the location with over 5 golden surfing beaches within a short drive or walk away. The Fern Pit Café is well worth a visit for the best cream tea in town and is moments from Rockpools - this hidden gem also has its own lobster pots and will gladly prepare your hand picked lobster for the ultimate Cornish slap up supper. Take a stroll up to the headland point and enjoy the culinary creations of Lewinnick Lodge, a wonderful family friendly place to enjoy a meal overlooking the sea.
