An exceptional home for celebrations and memorable holidays

Hindon Hall, with spectacular views over the estuary in pretty Lelant, is a place for very special holidays. Whether you stay for a celebratory occasion or use it as a luxurious base from which to explore the surrounding area, this exceptional home has been recently revived with care, with thought and with passion as part of an extensive renovation project to restore Edwardian elegance. A grand, fabulously bright and sunny house, in private palm tree filled gardens, it has five ensuite bedrooms set across the first floor whilst the generous social spaces, including a separate dining room, conservatory, living room and morning room, occupy the ground floor. South facing, and as impressive outside as inside, the full width pavilion frames the upper terrace and creates a villa-esque scene for al fresco dining with the estuary view backdrop, for sun-drenched afternoons and, on the lower lawn, for games and play. A cedar clad barrel sauna with outdoor shower is the epitome of indulgence tucked to the side of the house. Lelant is the gateway to Carbis Bay and St Ives and a joy to explore. Wander down to the peaceful banks of the Hayle Estuary, past the pretty church and Golf Club to take in the azure waters and golden sands of Porthkidney beach. If feeling energetic take the coastal path to Carbis Bay and along to Porthminster beach in St Ives, otherwise hop onto the branch line train from Lelant for stress free exploring. A short ten-minute drive will take you to Marazion to see the magnificent St Michaels Mount, or the surfing beach of Godrevy to make fabulous summer memories. Hindon Hall really is a plum location for exploring the best of the area.

Cornish Gems are delighted to welcome Hindon Hall to the portfolio of extraordinary homes - style and first-class comfort are wrapped in Edwardian elegance, a place for very special holidays.

Step Inside

Hindon Hall is a detached Edwardian manor, located in established grounds in Lelant. The house was built in the early 19th Century and after a sensitive renovation in 2022, the house now exceptionally blends the Edwardian architecture and attractive original features with a more modern style. Upon arrival, step into the inviting hallway with high ceilings and a hint at the inspiring style to follow. Unlike the contemporary builds of today, Hindon Hall presents separate social rooms. The large living room is where guests come together; snuggle into the sofas, huddle around the fire, entertain, chat and laugh - what holidays are all about. Double glass doors open onto the upper terrace for those cool summer breezes to waft in. Adjacent to the living room is the morning room, a small space where perhaps children can hideout and play their games or perhaps a room in which to work (if life at the office needs checking on) or simply sit with your early morning coffee as the house awakes around you. At the far end of the hallway is the smart dining room. What a glorious place to dine in serious style if celebrations are on the agenda or, perhaps a casual brunch suits your party. Glass doors open out under the pavilion to extend your dining opportunities. At the gable end of the house, just off the dining room, is the warm and sunny conservatory with relaxed seating for those inclement days. The kitchen is located to the rear of the house and is a spacious hub from which to fuel your guests. Create lip-smacking menus using Cornwall's very best produce and, with the extra pantry/utility space, you have room to stock up. A small four-seater wooden dining table completes the kitchen layout. Two ground floor cloakrooms are located on the ground floor. The central staircase leads to the first floor landing and collection of five beautiful bedrooms, of which four enjoy the estuary views. From the sunken suite at the rear of the house (complete with original butlers staircase down to the ground floor) to the sunny twin, each bedroom has its own design personality and restful appeal. The ensuite contemporary bathrooms are no less considered.

On Your Doorstep

The garden and terraces are as impressive as the house. Featuring the original Edwardian pavilion, spend your days sun-baking on the upper terrace, dining against the estuary backdrop and playing games on the spacious lower lawn. A barrel sauna for added appeal invites slow-living, simply switch off and breathe. Glass doors open from the living room, the morning room, the dining room and the conservatory, throw them open and extend your holiday footprint outside. Set at the gateway to St Ives and Carbis Bay, Lelant (birthplace of author Rosamunde Pilcher) is a joy to explore and a superb location for guests looking for a quieter space yet be within minutes of the bustle of the harbour and beaches. The Hayle Estuary is the backdrop to Hindon Hall and is not only serene and beautiful but a Site Of Scientific Interest helping to protect wintering wildfowl and waders. At high tide, the estuary fills creating a playground for kayakers and paddle boarders and as the tide ebbs, thousands of seabirds flock to feed and rest. Stroll along the banks and out to the wild beach of Porthkidney sands with sweeping views across to Gwithian and the mouth of Hayle Estuary. If beaches are on the agenda, you are spoilt for choice with Carbis Bay, Porthminster and Porthmeor a short journey away. Known for its magical light, cosmopolitan vibe and Cornish heritage, St Ives is well worth exploring. From chips on the quay to six-star dining experiences, this corner of Cornwall has a mouth-watering selection of places to eat.

Considered style, superb facilities, space and peace await at Hindon Hall - there's no place like Cornish Gems.
