Celebrating 10 Years of B Corp
Celebrating 10 Years of B Corp
To mark a decade of B Corps championing the idea that business can – and should – be a force for good, we’re taking a moment to reflect on our own journey. Becoming a B Corp in January 2024 wasn’t the destination, but the start of a commitment to make better choices for people, place, and planet. Here, we’re proud to share ten highlights that have shaped our progress so far.
We’ve expanded our Eco-Conscious collection by 47%. Guided by our industry-leading green-grading model, we’re giving guests clearer and more transparent information so they can make informed decisions about lower-impact holidays. It’s a practical step forward, rooted in honesty.

We have reduced our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 18.3%. While we’re encouraged by this progress, we know carbon reduction requires continued effort across all scopes, including our Scope 3 supply chain. This remains a key focus of our long-term strategy.
Recently, we were honoured to receive the Country and Town House 2026 Future Icons Award for Responsible Travel Experience in the UK. Judge Duncan Grossart recognised our “independent and determined leadership to enhance sustainable local communities, design, and environmental wellbeing” – a reflection of the values we work hard to uphold.

We have introduced paid volunteer days for the Cornish Gems team. Together, we contributed 168 hours to local charities such as Truro Food Bank, StreetVet Cornwall and Hearts of Headland. These hands-on experiences continue to strengthen our connection with our community.
We achieved Pride 365 certification. As a forward-thinking, innovative, and agile hospitality company, we naturally strive to welcome everyone. Diversity is the bond that holds our society together, and we believe it is important to hear all voices. In Cornish, we say “Dynnargh”.

Through team fundraising and guest engagement, we’ve raised over £5,000 for local causes including Truro Food Bank, the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity and StreetVet Cornwall. These partnerships create tangible, local impact and deepen our sense of place.
In partnership with Tree Nation, we’ve planted 450 trees since becoming a B Corp, bringing the total to 1,792 trees planted worldwide through our Welcome Gift programme. These trees support communities globally and represent the carbon equivalent of more than 9,000 car journeys to Cornwall – a meaningful contribution grounded in real numbers, not token gestures.

We remain committed to creating quality job opportunities in Cornwall. More of our housekeeping team now hold contracted roles, and we continue to support young people entering business, ESG, and hospitality. Since becoming B Corp certified, we’ve offered two paid internships and a Business Admin apprenticeship, helping nurture future talent.
As a Real Living Wage employer, we helped Cornwall achieve Real Living Place status, contributing to improved wages for more than 8,000 local workers. Fair pay is fundamental to community wellbeing, and we’re proud to support a standard that reflects real life, not minimums.

Above all, we believe in using our voice responsibly. By signing the Glasgow Declaration from the United Nations World Tourism Organisation and supporting the Better Business Act, we advocate for a future where companies are legally accountable to people, the planet, and profit. It’s a vision we stand firmly behind.
Our time as a B Corp so far has been defined by learning, accountability and a willingness to keep improving. While there is always more work ahead, these milestones represent meaningful progress, shaped by our team, our guests and the Cornwall community we’re privileged to be part of. Here’s to the next decade of doing business better.
