Elevated above the tidal waters of the River Gannel and Crantock Beach, Waterside brings a rare sense of calm, style and seaside luxury to Cornwall’s north coast. Here, the landscape is always changing, as the tide drifts in and out, the light dances across the water and the wide sands of Crantock stretch towards the sea.
Inside, 2 large bedrooms, each with a chic contemporary bathroom, provide generous and restful accommodation for couples, friends or a small family. The open-plan living and dining space is bright, elegant and inviting, creating a beautiful place to gather after days spent exploring the coast.
The large decked sea-facing balcony is a true highlight, perfectly placed for slow morning coffees, long lunches in the sea air and evening drinks as the sun softens over the estuary. Guests also benefit from private parking and access to communal gardens on the riverbank, adding to the effortless holiday feeling.
From this special waterside setting, the beauty of North Cornwall is yours to explore. Wander down to Crantock Beach, follow the River Gannel as it shifts with the tide, or head out to discover Fistral, Holywell Bay, Perranporth, Newquay and the surrounding coast. With around 8 beaches within a 5-mile radius, many dog friendly all year round, every day can bring a new stretch of sand, surf or shoreline.
Whether you’re watching the tide from the balcony, walking barefoot across the sand or returning home after a day in the waves, Waterside offers a peaceful and beautifully styled retreat in one of Cornwall’s most captivating coastal locations.
Another wonderful stay in this beautiful and cosy home. Also very lucky with the weather and able to enjoy time on the balcony watching the tide come and go. Cant wait to return!
Waterside is set within the exclusive Corisande Manor, a striking riverside residence located on the banks of the River Gannel. Arrive into a large hallway that leads through to the hub of the home: the open-plan living area. Dressed in soft greys, blues and copper tones, the space feels calm, contemporary and full of character, with much of the furniture inspired by the owners’ travels. From the moment you step inside, natural light pours through the many windows, each perfectly framing sea and river views, while the original high manor ceilings create a wonderful sense of space.
The living area is made for gathering, with a large corner sofa and attractive leather armchairs inviting friends and family to relax in comfort. Whether you’re settling in after a day on the beach, watching the tide shift across the Gannel or enjoying a quiet evening together, this is a space designed for easy coastal living.
The dining table can be dressed to impress for celebrations or kept simple for summer suppers, lazy breakfasts and long, relaxed lunches. The smart modern kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped, making holiday cooking a pleasure, whether you’re preparing fresh local produce or enjoying a true taste of Cornwall with freshly landed lobster from nearby Fern Pit Café.
A spacious cloakroom completes the ground floor layout, adding ease and practicality to your stay.
A central staircase leads to the first floor, where 2 beautiful ensuite bedrooms offer boutique comfort and peaceful views. The primary bedroom is dressed in a palette of coastal blues, deep greens and burnt orange, creating a rich and luxurious retreat worthy of any boutique hotel. With an indulgent super king zip/link bed and jackpot river views from every window, it is a truly special place to wake.
The second bedroom also offers a super king zip/link bed, making the layout wonderfully flexible for couples, friends or family stays. Both bedrooms are ensuite, with contemporary fittings and a luxurious ambience that ensures every guest can relax and recharge in style.
Throw open the double doors from the living space and step out onto the large decked wraparound balcony, where the views instantly take centre stage. From this private elevated position, enjoy sweeping 180-degree seascapes across the winding River Gannel, the mouth of the estuary and the golden sands of beautiful Crantock Beach beyond.
As the tide moves in and out, the landscape changes by the hour. At full tide, the river shines a brilliant blue beneath the big Cornish sky, while at low tide, wide stretches of sand reveal walking routes and quiet corners to explore. A large all-weather dining table and chairs make al fresco dining a joy, especially as the sun begins to set over the water.
Beyond Waterside, guests are welcome to enjoy the communal gardens that lead down to the riverbank. At low tide, you can walk across to Crantock Beach via the low tide bridge, or take the small water taxi at high tide for a wonderfully memorable way to reach the sand.
If surfing is on the agenda, Waterside is perfectly placed. The world-renowned Fistral Beach is within walking distance and offers some of the best waves in the country, along with surf schools, beach cafés and a lively coastal atmosphere. For a slower pace, Crantock Beach, the River Gannel and nearby Polly Joke offer gentler days of walking, swimming, paddleboarding and wildlife spotting.
For an evening stroll, head up to Pentire Headland for panoramic views across the coastline, then enjoy a pre-dinner drink or relaxed supper at The Lewinnick Lodge. Newquay’s restaurants, cafés and beaches are close by, while some of Cornwall's most popular restaurants, including those from Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth, can be found within the nearby harbour town of Padstow.
Whether this corner of North Cornwall is new to you or has long been a family favourite, Waterside offers a truly wonderful home from home. From tide-watching on the balcony to beach days, surf sessions and estuary adventures, this is a place to slow down, explore and savour life by the water.
