The Moorings is perched on the cliff overlooking Mevagissey's quintessentially Cornish harbour. It is a newly renovated historic Cornish house cleverly combining classic and contemporary interior design and boasts breathtaking views across Mevagissey harbour from most rooms. This beautiful, substantial property benefits from allocated off-road parking for 2-3 vehicles and outdoor dining terrace. It offers large living spaces, 4 bedrooms (1 with en-suite), 1 family bathroom and WC.

Upon entering this magnificent house, the hallway greets you with an authentic Victorian atmosphere. To the left is the open plan living and study area, with folding doors to either separate the two rooms or open up into one family room. The living area has been decorated in a rich cream and purple colour scheme complemented with fabulous ceiling chandeliers, dark original wood flooring, and warm Persian rugs. There is a three seater sofa, comfy chair, 2 bean bags, window seat, decorative fireplace, flat screen TV/ DVD player and a selection of books, games and CDs located in the original Victorian shelving either side of the fireplace. The study area continues with the same warm style and offers further seating by way of two armchairs and window seat all with sea views, side table with lamp, iPod docking station and dark wooden desk with chair.

To your right from the hallway is the magnificent open-plan modern kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped for your stay and offers an electric oven with 4 ring ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave. The dining area is where the stunning harbour views can truly be appreciated, a large square dining table dominates the centre of the room with enough seating for up to 12 guests. It is strategically placed near a wall of windows offering undoubtedly one of the best harbour views in Mevagissey. There is also a large sofa from which to soak up the views or enjoy an after dinner drink. A large oval mirror reflects the sea on the wall above. Other features in this room include a church pew, breakfast bar, bean bag, chandelier and CD/radio/iPod player.

Back to the entrance hall, there is a WC under the stairs which lead to the first floor of the house comprising four bedrooms and a family bathroom. The Moorings offers versatile sleeping accommodation: 2 double bedrooms with sea views and kingsize beds (one with en-suite shower room), and 2 bedrooms where the beds can be separated and arranged as two 3ft single beds, or zipped together to create 6ft super kingsize beds.

The family bathroom has been beautifully decorated in traditional white and blue offering a bath with overhead raindrop shower, wall mounted mirror, wash hand basin and toilet.

Back down to the kitchen area, a door leads downstairs to the outside space featuring a terrace with wooden dining table and 8 chairs offering a far reaching view over Mevagissey's picturesque harbour and lighthouse below.

The Moorings can be rented in 3 ways; the whole house that sleeps 12, the top part of the house - Harbour House (sleeps 8) or Lower Deck (sleeps 4). When rented separately each property has its own entrance points and allocated outside space. Whatever the size of your party this beautiful holiday home is a real gem and you'll leave wanting to return time and time again.

Mevagissey is evocatively picturesque and rich in history. Just down the hill from the Moorings the narrow streets are aligned with an eclectic collection of boutiques, traditional pubs, local deli, restaurants and amenities. Small beaches emerge at low tide in the harbour itself and beautiful coastal walks are on your doorstep along the southwest coastal path which runs through Mevagissey. The lost Gardens of Heligan are a 5 minute drive away.

A few miles up the coast is the larger harbour town - Fowey, one of Cornwall's most popular yachting destination, home town of the celebrated author Daphne du Maurier with a delightful array of shops, pubs and cafes. In summer months daily passenger ferries travel between the two harbour towns.

Inland the closest town is St. Austell with the world famous Eden Project nearby. St Austell offers a newly developed retail centre, a number of out of town larger retail outlets plus Tesco and Asda supermarkets that can deliver locally.
