Set on a hill, overlooking town, sea and river, The Observatory Tower occupies the highest point in Falmouth. It was built in 1868, as a meteorological observatory, where people could watch and identify incoming weather. Originally it had a parapet wall on top. Unfortunately The Tower went into disrepair over the years and was eventually sold at auction in 2009, when the new owners set about its complete renovation, restoring wherever possible. They were keen to keep the restoration as sympathetic to its heritage, while also updating it for the 21st century, to make it a luxurious and comfortable modern holiday home with every amenity you could possibly wish for.

The Observatory boasts far-reaching 360° views across the Fal Estuary, Harbour, marina and town. It is within easy walking distance, not only of Falmouth's many shops, restaurants cafes and galleries, but also its 2 fabulous beaches (Gyllyngvase and Swanpool).

Parking is readily available in the quiet residential roads adjoining that of the Tower. However, with good transport links to and from Truro and the surrounding area, by road, rail and sea, you may opt to leave the car at home!

The Observatory Tower offers accommodation over 5 floors. The owners have carefully considered every single piece of furniture and accessory to ensure the overall holiday experience will be a memorable one. The view is simply breathtaking and it has to be one of the best views in Cornwall, its the only property we have seen with a true 360° view. The Observatory Tower will suit couples and families with older children seeking an unusual holiday home in Cornwall's sailing capital Falmouth. This wonderful harbour town has so much to offer from its plethora of shops, cafes and restaurants through to golden sandy beaches and attractions including Pendennis Castle and The Maritime Museum.

Please note due to the open plan nature of the property over 4 storeys, The Observatory is not suitable for children under 12.

"The short break was great and we would recommend to anyone looking for a weekend break. Thank you for a great service."
J McGregor

"An iconic property renovated to the highest standards with the most magnificent views from the top floor, though we must be reasonably fit and prepared for 66 stairs to get there - but my-oh-my it's more than worth the climb! Fantastic!"
David Barnett
