A Blue Cornwall Itinerary | The Colours of Cornwall
There’s something about Cornwall’s coastline that invites you to slow down. The endless horizon, the rhythm of the tide and the ever-changing shades of blue have a way of restoring balance – a feeling often described as Blue Mind, the sense of calm and wellbeing we experience when we spend time beside, on or in water.
For our Colours of Cornwall series, we’re exploring the county through its most beautiful shades. This three-day itinerary celebrates Cornwall’s blue moments, from sailing across sparkling waters and swimming in hidden coves, to coastal dining and wild wellness experiences overlooking the Atlantic.

Day 1: Falmouth – Harbour blues and life on the water
Begin your blue escape in Falmouth, where a bustling harbour, golden beaches and deep blue waters set the scene for a perfect coastal day. Start slowly with coffee and breakfast at Gylly Beach Cafe, enjoying sea views and the fresh morning air just steps from Gyllyngvase Beach.
From here, it’s time to experience Cornwall from the water. Set sail with our friends at One Atlantek and discover the coastline from a new perspective, gliding across Falmouth Bay with the wind in your sails. For a truly memorable experience, enjoy lunch onboard with fresh Cornish lobster and champagne as you take in the views of the harbour, headlands and open ocean.
Back on land, continue the coastal theme with dinner at The Boathouse, where relaxed waterfront dining celebrates Cornwall’s connection to the sea. As the day draws to a close, head back onto the water for an evening sunset paddle, watching the last light reflect across the bay as the coastline turns from blue to gold.

Day 2: The Roseland – Hidden coves and calm waters
Day two takes you to the peaceful beauty of the Roseland Peninsula, where sheltered bays, turquoise waters and quiet coastal paths offer a slower side of Cornwall.
Start your morning with coffee and breakfast at Tide & Thyme, in Portscatho, before heading to the water for a paddleboarding adventure. The Roseland’s calm coves and clear waters make it the perfect place to explore at a gentler pace, with every paddle revealing another beautiful stretch of coastline.
After working up an appetite, head to The Hidden Hut for a memorable coastal lunch. Set among the dunes overlooking Porthcurnick Beach, this much-loved beachside spot celebrates simple, seasonal food enjoyed outdoors beside the sea.
Spend the afternoon embracing Cornwall’s Blue Mind philosophy with a swim in the calm waters of Porthcurnick Beach. Take your time, soak up the scenery and enjoy the simple pleasure of being immersed in nature.
For dinner, head slightly further inland to The Standard Inn, the sister venture from the team behind The Hidden Hut. Expect the same focus on local ingredients, relaxed dining and a true taste of Cornwall.

Day 3: Portreath and Porthtowan – Atlantic adventures and coastal wellness
Your final day takes you to Cornwall’s dramatic north coast, where wild Atlantic waters meet golden sands and rugged cliffs.
Begin with breakfast and coffee at The Pod, before heading to the beach for a morning surf session. With its rolling Atlantic waves and laid-back coastal atmosphere, Portreath is the perfect place to experience Cornwall’s adventurous spirit, whether you’re catching your first wave or simply enjoying the view from the sand.
After your morning in the water, refuel at Atlantic Beach Cafe and Bar with a relaxed seaside lunch.
Continue your journey to Porthtowan for an afternoon dedicated to coastal wellness with Soul Sweats. Set on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Soul Sweats invites you to reconnect with yourself through breathwork, hot and cold therapy, yoga, sound healing, meditation and mindful movement.
Surrounded by sea views and the sounds of the coastline, it’s the perfect way to end a blue-inspired escape.
Finish your final evening with dinner at Unicorn On The Beach, enjoying locally inspired dishes with the Atlantic as your backdrop.
