To the rear of the house, a smaller sheltered lawn offers yet more outdoor space to enjoy, along with practical storage for kayaks, bikes and all the equipment that comes with life by the coast.

From the house, follow the path down to the coastal trail and on to the beaches of Trevone, where days can be spent rock pooling on the rugged shore at low tide or heading to the soft golden sands of the cove for sea swims and surf.

Tucked away from the bustle of Padstow yet wonderfully close to it, Trevone has a charm all of its own, with a relaxed village feel and the kind of easy coastal rhythm that makes it so special.

A seasonal beach cafe and surf shop keep you supplied with coffee, ice creams and all the essentials for a day by the sea, while The Shop at the end of the lane offers a tempting selection of local produce to bring home.

Food lovers will be spoilt for choice in this corner of North Cornwall, from excellent local pub dining and fish and chips on the quay to the Michelin-starred experience of Paul Ainsworth at No.6 in nearby Padstow.

The Camel Estuary offers a calmer contrast to the surf, with sheltered waters perfect for paddleboarding and boating, while the scenic cycle trail along its banks is ideal for leisurely days exploring on two wheels.

If surfing is firmly on the agenda, Kerome is exceptionally well placed, with Harlyn Bay, Constantine Bay and Treyarnon Bay all just a short drive away, and even Harlyn reachable on foot for those who love to explore the coastline at a slower pace.
