Wander from the harbour to the beautiful blue front door of Crew Quarters in moments. Sensitively refurbished and tastefully styled, you'll feel right at home inside and ready to enjoy a very Cornish way of life. Lead left into the dining room where delicious dinners are to be enjoyed in great company. On winter evenings guests can light up the log burner and tuck into something hearty, and in the warmer months open the sea-facing window and let the sea air sweep in. The fully-fitted kitchen at Crew Quarters begs for culinary creativity, so for a dinner that couldn't be fresher, skip down to the harbour and pick up the catch of the day from St Mawes Seafood on the quay. Also on the ground floor, and flaunting those dreamy maritime views, the twin bedroom adopts a paired back, calming palette with cool, coastal artwork. Ascend to the first floor, where the family bathroom and living room await. With sofas to sink into and views to get lost in, the sitting room is a place in which to completely relax. The primary bedroom boasts double windows overlooking the sea, and a perfectly placed window seat from which to take it all in.
Crew Quarters offers an elevated terrace from which to soak up the Cornish sunshine. Perhaps you'll even dress the outdoor table and dine under the stars? On your doorstep, St Mawes, otherwise known as the 'St Tropez of England', comes highly praised, particularly by the Royal Family, who proclaim it as 'Britain’s loveliest seaside village'. White-washed and thatched cottages cluster around the water, where cool cafes, bakeries and galleries offer tempting artisan delights. Swimmers will adore the sheltered waters for morning dips, just walk from your door in a minute. There is plenty of culture to embrace, too. Built by King Henry VIII, St Catherine's Castle overlooks Carrick Roads, a large waterway known by sailors the world over. Guests can watch the maritime world go by here, from classic tall ships to racing yachts. From the harbour, The Fal River Company shuttles visitors across to Falmouth, where sailing regattas, festivals and a vibrant high street are ready to embrace you. Bay-dreamers will enjoy the sandy coves with sparkling waters that are dotted around the Roseland Peninsula, including Portscatho and Portloe. If activity and adventure calls, this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a walker’s paradise, with a great variety of coastal and inland walks. You can take the five minute ferry ride to Place Creek, where you can join the coast path and follow it to the lighthouse at St Anthony head. Crew Quarters owners recommend walking round to Portscatho, where The Hidden Hut serves freshly cooked food among the sea air. Tucked away into a south-facing nook of the River Fal, guests are ideally placed to sail, swim, enjoy a Fal River cruise or simply watch the world sail by. There are even weekly moorings available to rent in the bay, and a seasonal floating pontoon - perfect for if you want to get out on the water on your own dinghy or rib.
