Deep in the breathtaking Roseland Peninsula, moments from the Heritage Coast, The Cowshed (sleeps eight) and The Dairy (sleeps two) sit side by side, forming The Cowshed & Dairy Barn, a private retreat designed for shared stays with space to breathe.
Originally 1930s farm outbuildings, these adjoining barns have been thoughtfully and sustainably transformed using repurposed materials and energy-conscious design, blending rural character with contemporary comfort.
Together they offer the ideal balance: generous communal living in The Cowshed, complemented by a beautifully self-contained hideaway in The Dairy - perfect for grandparents, close friends or anyone seeking a little extra privacy.
Surrounded by open countryside with sweeping views across fields to the Percuil River, Carrick Roads estuary and St Mawes beyond, this is a setting made for long coastal walks, slow breakfasts on sunlit terraces and evenings gathered around the fire. With ample outdoor space and room to welcome up to three dogs across the two properties, it’s as well suited to four-legged companions as it is to extended family gatherings.
For multi-generational holidays, milestone celebrations or friends and family travelling together, The Cowshed & Dairy Barn combines flexibility, sustainability and effortless Cornish living.

We’re delighted to introduce The Cowshed & Dairy Barn - a truly special rural sanctuary on the stunning Roseland Peninsula. Perfect for multi-generational holidays, friends and family get-togethers, milestone celebrations or those seeking both shared space and peaceful privacy, this thoughtfully restored duo of adjoining barns blends characterful Cornish heritage with contemporary comfort and eco-conscious design.
The two homes together form The Cowshed & Dairy Barn, a spacious, eco-conscious retreat, blending characterful 1930s farm architecture with contemporary comfort.
Entering The Cowshed, you are immediately greeted by a light-filled living area with vaulted ceilings and a plush L-shaped sofa beside a warming woodburner - an inviting space for relaxing with family or friends after a day exploring The Roseland. The split-level layout leads down to a thoughtfully appointed kitchen and dining area, where a large table encourages leisurely breakfasts and sociable dinners prepared in the well-equipped kitchen.
A mezzanine super-king bedroom overlooks the living space, with a glass screen that can be adjusted for privacy, while two further king-sized bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms, a comfortable twin room, and a refined family bathroom with a deep bath complete the accommodation in The Cowshed. Every bedroom is furnished with luxury linens and carefully considered details to ensure a restful stay.
The Dairy, adjoining The Cowshed, offers a self-contained hideaway for two, providing a quieter, intimate space.
From its terrace, step into the full-height, open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, designed for comfort and simplicity. Prepare meals with local ingredients, relax on the sofa with a book or a film, or simply enjoy a few hours of peaceful togetherness. The bedroom is dressed in soft muted tones and crisp white linens, creating a tranquil haven, while the modern bathroom features a deep bath for unwinding after a day of coastal adventures.
Both properties flow seamlessly to the outdoors, with terraces and gardens that take full advantage of the surrounding countryside.
The Cowshed offers a private dining terrace with a pergola and gas barbecue, perfect for alfresco meals, alongside a sun trap terrace for lounging or evenings around the fire pit. A rear garden features a hammock and a shed stocked with outdoor games, while the adjoining fields provide ample space for picnics, yoga, kite flying, or football.
The Dairy’s terrace and field extend the sense of space and privacy, while still allowing the two properties to share the expansive grounds.
Together, the properties can welcome up to three dogs, making it ideal for guests travelling with pets. From these outdoor spaces, guests can enjoy sweeping views across the fields, down to the Percuil River, the Carrick Roads estuary, and St Mawes, with the Lizard Peninsula visible on a clear day.
Whether inside or out, The Cowshed & Dairy Barn balances communal gathering and private retreat, providing a flexible, luxurious base for multi-generational holidays, small celebrations, or friends travelling together.
