Tucked away in the quiet village of Trevone, just a five-minute amble from the beach and a stone’s throw from Padstow, this thoughtfully appointed holiday home offers a comfortable and tranquil coastal escape. The interiors blend original features with a fresh and vibrant aesthetic. Featuring three spacious bedrooms and two generous bathrooms. Open the double doors of the ground floor primary bedroom to connect with the sea-facing garden and watch the surf roll in. The well-equipped open-plan kitchen and dining area, complete with electric Aga, opens onto the enclosed cottage-style garden for alfresco breakfasts and lunches in the midday sun. Retreat to the living area and warm up by the fire in the winter months whilst still enjoying the serenity of an Atlantic sunset. Chycoose is the perfect base for families or friends exploring the North Cornish coast and further afield. Experience the bustling harbour towns of Padstow, Port Isaac and Newquay, or hike the South West Coast Path and the Camel Trail.
The location is lovely, a short walk to the beach. It was lovely having a sea view. We enjoyed eating outside on the terrace in the evening.
Enter Chycoose to a utility room and an ample shower room, then immediately arrive at the heart of the home; the spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area. Family and friends gather together here for conversation over cooking and to dine on food and drink from the award-winning Padstow Farm Shop, just a five-minute drive away. Ascend to the generous first floor bedroom for glorious sea views from the eaves of the house.
A central hallway leads off the dining space and through to the sea-facing side of the house and a spectacularly framed view to the horizon, complete with a desk for quiet contemplation. To the right is the plush living room, flooded with daylight from large double doors; open them wide to connect with the sea-view garden or, in the cooler months, hunker down and fire-up the log-burner to unwind in comfort with a book. If that's not your style, move over to the snug to cosy up with a movie.
To the left of the hallway are the two ground floor bedrooms, each individually decorated and offering a comfortable and well-earned night’s sleep after a day exploring the North Cornish coast. The modern family bathroom completes the ground floor layout.
The gardens are enclosed and give a safe space for children and dogs to play. The side garden connects with the kitchen making it perfect for outdoor dining. The coastal-facing garden is the ideal spot to unwind in the evening with a drink and watch the sunset.
An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, Trevone Bay boasts two beaches; one of soft sands and gentle surf and, just to its left, the locally known 'Rocky Beach' where rockpools reveal a treasure trove of marine life and hours of entertainment for children and the young at heart. There’s also a natural seawater swimming pool a little further down Rocky Beach.
Trevone Beach Stores offers surf equipment hire and a cafe catering each meal of the day, as well as Bruno’s Bar for live music nights. It’s also home to Trevone Bay Adventures for instructor-led kayaking, canoeing and coasteering. The Well Parc Inn is a minute stroll away from your doorstep, welcoming patrons to their beer garden with views to the Atlantic horizon.
For those who enjoy time on the fairway, Trevose Golf Club, with its breathtaking location and highly-rated links courses, is conveniently located in nearby Constantine Bay village.
The South West Coast Path is also just a stone's throw away; head west and you soon arrive at Harlyn Bay, popular with surfers for its large sandy beach and its cafes and bars. Follow the path north towards the iconic Stepper Point, then on to the mouth of the Camel Estuary and into Padstow for pasties, harbour life and more.
