One of the most southerly homes in Cornwall, Tresawle is a spacious and light-filled coastal retreat designed to immerse guests in the wild beauty of the Lizard Peninsula. With dramatic sea views, direct access to the South West Coast Path and a beautifully soothing interior scheme, this is a home made for adventure, indulgence and unforgettable moments by the Atlantic.
Accommodating up to 10 guests across 5 bedrooms, this architect-designed home has been created to make the most of its spectacular setting. Soaring double-height glazing frames epic coastal views, while seascapes from every room invite you to slow down and take in the changing light, tides and weather. Look out towards Bumble Rock and Lizard Lighthouse, and wake to sunrises over the Atlantic.
Tresawle has been transformed through an exciting Gems Interiors design project, with a carefully considered style that pays homage to the surrounding coastline. Soft, calming tones and high-end finishes create a sense of relaxed luxury, offering a beautiful contrast to the rugged drama outside.
From the bottom of the garden, join the South West Coast Path and step straight into some of Cornwall’s most breathtaking scenery. Whether you’re a rambler, dog walker, wildlife watcher or budding photographer, the location is exceptional, with clifftop paths, hidden coves and far-reaching ocean views waiting to be explored.
Just 5 minutes away is Lizard Point, the most southerly place in mainland Britain, where dramatic Atlantic views, wildlife spotting and coastal walks create a truly memorable day out. Keep watch for seals, dolphins and seabirds, or visit the historic Lizard Lighthouse, first established in 1619 and still an iconic landmark on this extraordinary stretch of coast.
Offering an escape for all seasons, Tresawle is as magical for winter storm-watching as it is for summer sunset dining. With expansive windows, high-end interiors and an unbeatable coast path location, this remarkable home promises a holiday filled with space, scenery and wow-factor moments.
Tresawle is a fantastic addition to our sea view collection. We are excited for our guests to enjoy coastal life in this stunning location above Housel Bay beach.
Step into the entrance hallway and be immediately captivated by the breathtaking sea views that set the tone for your stay. From here, the house flows effortlessly into the heart of the home: a spacious open-plan living, dining and kitchen area designed for relaxed coastal living, easy conversation and time together beside the sea.
The vast, light-filled spaces feel both impressive and inviting, softened with bespoke furnishings, warm coastal hues and a carefully layered sense of comfort. This Gems Interiors project brings a cooler, more contemporary edge to classic seaside style, balancing natural textures and calming seafoam tones with high-quality finishes and a beautifully refined design scheme.
The kitchen is practical, beautifully equipped and wonderfully sociable, with a central island and informal breakfast area that naturally draws everyone together. Whether preparing slow holiday breakfasts, relaxed lunches or celebratory suppers, this is a space designed for easy coastal living.
The large dining space, set against the ocean backdrop, makes staying in feel every bit as tempting as dining out, with friends and family gathering over good food, sea views and long, unhurried conversation.
The living room is a serene coastal sanctuary, where colours inspired by the surrounding landscape create a calm and restorative atmosphere. Sink into the comfortable seating, watch the light shift across the water and enjoy a space that feels luxurious, relaxed and deeply connected to its extraordinary setting.
Also on the ground floor, children and grown-ups alike will enjoy the freedom of the games room, where table football is sure to bring out a little friendly competition. Tired explorers can retreat to the movie room/snug for chilled-out sofa time, quiet films and a slower end to adventure-filled days.
When the day’s adventures catch up with you, head upstairs and choose from 5 beautifully furnished sea-view bedrooms, each designed with a relaxed yet indulgent feel. The 3 superking bedrooms benefit from private ensuite shower rooms, while the final 2 bedrooms are conveniently located opposite the family bathroom, still enjoying those incredible coastal panoramas.
On a sunny morning, the elevated seating area in the upstairs hallway makes a lovely spot for watching the ocean, pausing with a coffee or simply soaking up the view before the day begins.
The outdoor space is equally generous and secluded, with a south-facing patio area and wide lawn ideal for garden games, long lunches or quiet moments with a book. The expansive lawn stretches down to a private gate opening directly onto the South West Coast Path, inviting you to step straight from the garden into the wild beauty of the Lizard Peninsula.
Shake off city life and let the coast paths work their magic. Just through the gate at the end of the garden, you can step straight out onto miles of spectacular coastal trails in both directions, with dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, wildflowers, seabirds and Atlantic views setting the scene from the very first step.
It’s a scenic 15-minute stroll to National Trust’s Lizard Point, the UK’s most southerly point, where rugged headlands and far-reaching ocean views make every walk feel memorable. Continue a little further to the turquoise waters of Kynance Cove, a much-loved tidal beach famed for its pale sand, bright blue water and dramatic rock formations.
For a hikers’ holiday, there could hardly be a better place to stay than Tresawle. The more adventurous can scramble down to the rocky cove below for a swim in crystal-clear waters, while those seeking a slower pace can simply sink into the sofa and soak up the breathtaking sea views in complete comfort.
When it’s time to eat, there are plenty of local favourites to discover. For a fabulous roast on the coast, The Terrace at Housel Bay is a great nearby option, while Wavecrest at Lizard Point is always a firm favourite for lighter lunches, cakes and coffee with a view.
The local village is renowned for something wonderfully unique: serpentine craftsmanship. Local artisans shape jewellery and keepsakes from the Lizard’s distinctive dark green stone, veined with red and white, creating beautiful reminders of this extraordinary landscape. Also much loved in the village is The Top House Inn, Britain’s most southerly pub, perfect for a hearty lunch and a pint of local ale. Family-friendly and welcoming to dogs in the bar area, it’s a great village stop after time on the coast path.
Filled with natural beauty, history and a true sense of wild Cornwall, there is nowhere quite like the Lizard Peninsula. From the golden sands of Kennack and the iconic beauty of Kynance to the authentic harbour charm of Coverack, every day brings somewhere new to explore. Further west, the Minack Theatre offers an unforgettable experience, with performances staged on the cliffs above the sparkling sea and Porthcurno beach.
