The Property

Follow Lighthouse Hill as it winds its way up the cliff and arrive to the creative design and welcoming ambiance of Chy Gweder. This inspired box-like contemporary home has been clad in warm cedar wood which frames the oversized floor to ceiling glass walls creating a stand out holiday home and perfect setting for your time in Cornwall. The house has recently been nominated for the South West LABC Building Excellence Awards. The house is set over 2 floors offering a reverse style concept with the large open plan living, dining and kitchen plus master bedroom on the first floor and indulgent bedrooms and family bathroom on the lower floor. From the moment you arrive the house is flooded with natural light and a great sense of space, hypnotic countryside vistas are captured at every turn. To the front of Chy Gweder relax in style in the laid back living space, in the cooler months unwind in front of a good film with surround sound for that cinema effect or slide back the glass doors to create an alfresco extension to the room and jackpot sunset spot from Spring to Autumn. The sleek dining table is set under the glass corner of the property, choose to dine in style as the valley views drop away beneath you. No need for volunteers, the kitchen sink-with-a-view will have your happy helpers lining up! The central staircase leads down to the ground floor, 2 beautiful bedrooms have each been individually styled to create personal havens for your luxury holiday. The contemporary family bathroom is no less considered with luxury walk in rain shower and deep bath. Every cushion, cup and chair has been thoughtfully chosen to complement this unique holiday home and ensure the most memorable stay.

From your private vantage point the panoramic views open up beneath you. Upon arrival the steps lead up to the side of the house to the first floor front door. Located to the front of Chy Gweder is a large secure patio area with bespoke black solid wood dining table and chairs perfectly placed to capture the day long sunshine. A glass balustrade secures the area from the valley making a safe haven for children to play and for you to relax.  Planted pots brim with colour from Spring to Summer whilst the everchanging rural views add to the Cornish setting.  To the side of Chy Gweder the master bedroom has its own hidden away platform overlooking the valley, capture the morning sunrise from your bedroom before the days adventure begins. Follow the single track road down Lighthouse Hill to the golden sandy beach of Portreath, approx 10 minute walk and what a view! Portreath is a popular spot for the local surfers who flock to the harbour break, choose to hire a board and have a go yourself or admire them from the comfort of the harbour wall. A beach side cafe and surf shop can be found nearby and traditional local pub serves proper Cornish fare. Portreath lies in the heart of North West Cornwall, follow the coast road down to Gwithian and Godrevy or head to the village of St Agnes for a tempting choice of places to eat.

Whatever the occasion the versatility of Chy Gweder ensures a very special stay from summer days to wintery weekends.

How can I make a reservation?

  1. Pay 1/3rd deposit to secure your holiday (33.3%) now and pay the balance 4 weeks before your holiday

Last minute bookings:

  1. Payment in full required for all holidays booked within 28 days of arrival

You can pay securely online or over the phone via Sagepay.

Cautionary Deposit:

  1. A cautionary deposit of £500.00 is required prior to your check in. The day before your arrival we will pre authorise your balance payment card for this amount. Should you wish to use an alternative card then please ensure you have this card readily available when making your balance payment. (Please note you can use a credit card for this without incurring any charges).

When you submit an online reservation, you will receive an automated reservation confirmation. Please contact the reservations team with any questions you may have.

How can I pay

We accept debit cards (no charge), credit cards (2.5% surcharge) and international bank transfers.
We do not accept cheque payments.
