The Property

Through the wrought iron gates and you have arrived at your very own stately pad. Be it long weekend or a week by the sea, St Issey Vicarage assures you of a warm welcome.  The entrance hallway sets the scene with its high ceilings, original decorative dado and mahogany floor boards. An open plan library offers a quiet space to sit and read, a good selection of novels are on hand to wile away an hour or two.  Just off the hallway, first a formal dining room. This beautiful room can be dressed up for celebrations for up to 8 to dine in opulent style. The walls are adorned with fine art and the room decked out with antique furniture, the double aspect full height windows offer garden views and sunny aspect. From the formal dining room a door leads into an attractive morning room (also accessed from the hall) again the double aspect windows offer garden views to the rear of the house. This light and bright room is idyllic for friends to sit and chat or a pre-dinner gathering. To the rear of the house the rooms open up to offer a more open plan ambiance with large dining space where up to 12 can dine together at a striking large glass dining table which then leads to the bespoke kitchen. The kitchen is more contemporary in style and has very much been thoughtout for holiday life, a real hub to the house.  The feature semi circular breakfast bar with 3 stools is great for kids to enjoy an early supper or for all to get involved in the culinary preparations. The kitchen is fully kitted out and offers ample storage. Just off the kitchen a separate TV come snug room offers further relaxed seating and large flat screen TV for that cinema experience.  Also on the ground floor is a WC and separate wet room perfectly placed for that post sandy/salty soak. A collection of 6 bedrooms (4 offering en suite bathroom facilities) can be found equally spaced out over the first floor. Each bedroom has been thoughtfully styled to maintain the traditional ambiance of luxury, space and comfort whilst the recently modernised bathrooms offer a contemporary contrast for an indulgent pamper. There is also a large family bathroom on this floor.

We really enjoyed our stay, the house is beautiful, the rooms are beautifully decorated and it was great to have a bathroom each. The house is spacious and the children had great fun.

The 3/4 acre grounds are perfectly private and meticulously maintained, you’d be forgiven for forgetting you were in the heart of a Cornish community.  The large lush green lawn surrounds the house offering a relaxed and safe place for children to play. Step from the kitchen door down onto the large paved patio area where outside dining table and chairs make a lovely place to enjoy some al fresco dining in the warmer months. Take in the iconic views of the Cornish church just beyond the high Bay hedge. Copper Beech trees line the driveway which is large enough for at least 5 cars to park as well as your holiday toys from kayaks to surf boards. The beauty and relaxed pace of North Cornwall awaits. Padstow is just a 20 minute drive away and really does offer something for everyone from high adrenaline boat rides on the Camel Estuary, crabbing off the quay to boutique souvenir shopping.  Not to mention the tempting cafes, restaurants and pubs including Paul Ainsworth’s Number 6 and Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant. If it’s a day on the beach then head to the fine golden sands and blue seas of Harlyn Bay, Trevone or Treyarnon Bay or further up the coast to Daymer Bay and Polzeath. The market town of Wadebridge is approx 15 minute drive away and great for a browse around, choose to hire bikes and hit the Camel Trail along the estuary. St Issey is a small Cornish village with a lovely local pub which you can walk to from the house.  There is also a recreational park nearby.

If you are looking for a family base or holiday home to remember for a special occasion then choose the character and charm of St Issey Vicarage and get to know this very special Cornish coastline.
