Our Charity Of The Year 2024

As a proud B Corp business, we are passionate about supporting the well-being of our people and Cornish communities.

That's why, we're proud to share that we have selected local Cornish charity, Truro Food Bank, as our Charity of the Year 2024.

Based just down the road from Cornish Gems HQ, it provides vital food, drink and household provisions to individuals and families in need throughout mid-Cornwall, and is leading the charge in campaigning for Cornwall to become the first Real Living Wage county.

ESG Strategy Lead, Emma Fashokun said:

"As soon as I met Simon and the team at the food bank, I was inspired by their mission. The work they do is essential to so many people across Cornwall, and we are very much looking forward to raising awareness and funds for the charity over the next year.

"As a Truro-based business operating across the county, we're well aware of the negative impacts our industry has on Cornish communities. Supporting Truro Food Bank and its Real Living Wage campaign for Cornwall will play a significant part in the wider work we're doing to create a more responsible tourism industry in the county."

How you can help...

With a team of 70 volunteers placing compassion, justice, comunity and dignity at the heart of the charity since its launch in 2009, the food bank last year supported 5800 people across mid-Cornwall. Following a turbulent few years in the economy, culminating in the cost of living crisis, it's not seeing a sharp rise in demand for support, compounded by a decline in donations.

You can help this cause by donating £2, £5, £10 or £25 towards our fundraising efforts when making a booking with Cornish Gems. Thank you for your support towards this fantastic initiative.
