Portreath is a popular spot for the local surfers who flock to the harbour break, choose to hire a board and have a go yourself or admire them from the comfort of the harbour wall. A beach side cafe and surf shop can be found nearby and traditional local pub serves proper Cornish fare. Portreath lies in the heart of North West Cornwall, follow the coast road down to Gwithian and Godrevy or head to the village of St Agnes for a tempting choice of places to eat. Porthtowan is just a short distance over the headlands and offers further surfing options and cool beach cafes and bars. St Ives is the jewel in the Cornish crown and well worth a visit or head to the harbour sights of Padstow to the north.
